Export Ban on Wheat – Exports only through Customs EDI Ports

Subject: Removal of ban on export of wheat.
In exercise of the powers
conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act,
1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014,
the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS)
Classifications of Export and Import items, as amended from time to time.
2. In supersession of Notification
No. 33(RE-2007)/2004-2009, dated 08th October, 2007, the following
amendments are made with immediate effect against entry at Sl. No.46A of
Chapter 10 of Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) : -

Sub-heading Note: The term “durum wheat”
means wheat of the Triticum durum species and the
Hybrids derived from the inter – specific crossing of Triticum durum which have the same number (28) of
chromosomes as that species.
3. Effect of this notification:
Export of wheat has been
made free. Exports shall be only through Custom EDI ports.
