Wheat Quota of 2 Lac MTs to Bangladesh for FCI

Subject: Prohibition on export of wheat – exemption for export of wheat to Bangladesh

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 read with Section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) and Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in Notification No. 40/2009-14 dated 12.05.2010 read with Notification No. 33(RE-2007)/2004-2009 dated 08.10.2007, as amended from time to time (pertaining to prohibition on export of wheat and wheat products).

2. With immediate effect, the existing entry against para 2.10 in the Notification No. 40 /2009-2014 dated 12.05.2010 is substituted to read as under:-

“2.10 The prohibition imposed by this notification on export of wheat shall not be applicable to export of 2,00,000 MT of wheat to Bangladesh through Food Corporation of India.”

3. There shall be no other change in Notification No. 40/2009-14 dated 12.05.2010.
