Introduced Compulsory Return for All Import and Export Consignments

Attention:-
Transporters/Operators (Importing goods through railway and other means)
Section 51 of the PVAT Act, 2005 makes
it mandatory that every single commodity brought into and sent outside the
State of Punjab for business and trade shall be declared at the information
Collection Centres (ICCs), The Department has
introduced a system of electronic furnishing of data (e-ICC) before the goods
are sent into the State of Punjab or dispatched from the State of Punjab. This
system is simple, less time taking and trader friendly. Currently, this
facility of hassle free data entry is being utilized by various dealers and
transporters across the state and country.
Henceforth any taxable person importing
or exporting goods through railways/airways/containers freight stations shall
compulsorily upload the information with respect to the consignment on the
e-ICC facility provided by the Department on its website www.pextax.com. This
will be mandatory for all the dealers whose bill value is more than two lacs per consignment.
For this purpose, the affected owners
of goods are required to register themselves with the Asstt.
Excise & Taxation Commissioner of their concerned districts and procure
their login I.Ds & Passwords. All such persons are advised to obtain this
registration before importing/exporting the goods. It should be noted that any
goods detected after 01.05.2012, which have not been declared on e-ICC system,
shall be considered as an attempt to evade tax and shall be dealt with under
the penal provisions of Section 51, of the Punjab Value Added Tax Act, 2005.
This will be effective from 1st May,
2012.
